EVENTS

Lend a hand to Hugo runs many events that are not only great for people of all ages, but raise vital funds and awareness. The charity is all about public engagement, and hopes to bring in bigger crowds to each new event.

The annual Lend a hand to Hugo Charity match has been running for two very successful years and is easily the foundations biggest event of the year.

The match features not only A-list cricketers, but an energetic crowd and a terrific atmosphere, so make sure you make an appearance at the next one!

THE LEND A HAND TO HUGO CHARITY MATCH

March 10, 2016

The first Lend a hand to Hugo Match was a great way to get the cricketing community involved in the charity, bringing old and current players together to raise funds for the cause. Thanks to the auction after the cricket game, as well as donations from entry, over $5000 was raised. On the 11th of March, thanks to the huge success of the event the previous year, the second annual charity match took place at the TCA, bringing in fans of the A-list players and supporters of the cause alike. In a fierce battle between the All Stars and the Young Guns, there were many highlights, which you can see here. This event raised over $5,400.

THE LEND A HAND TO HUGO RACE DAY

May 28, 2016

The LAHTH race day BBQ at Elwick was a huge success and a brilliant day for everyone who attended. The day included a raffle, delicious food, childrens and adults activities, the jockeys pledged a certain amount per race finish and a special set of silks were worn by a jockey in every race! There are so many people to thank but a huge thanks must go to Belinda White, Garry White, Luke Williams, Lindy Williams, Norm Blackburn, Trish Blackburn, Brodie Moore and Nicole Richardson (for all of the photos) and everyone else who assisted, supported, donated: who all helped make our event such a success! â€ª#‎lahthraceday‬

THE LEND A HAND TO HUGO CUP

In a two dayer battle between North Hobart and Clarence, it was all about raising awareness. Blue stumps and capped up players made for an extremely exciting couple of weekends. The North Hobart Cricket Club were awarded the inaugural Lend a hand to Hugo Cup and Clarence Captain Harrison Allanby was awarded the LAHTH Man of the Match Medal.

THE LEND A HAND TO HUGO COMEDY NIGHT

July 17, 2015

The comedy night was set up on the 18th of July 2015, following the launch of the shoelaces which were a huge success. A family friend, close to Hugo and Luke, had a background in comedy, as well as contacts in the industry, worked with the LAHTH team to create an event to not only make people laugh; which is what their charity is about, but also to raise some funds and awareness. About $2500 was raised from this awesome event.

THE LEND A HAND TO HUGO BRIDGE WALK

The charities first major fundraising event was a walk over the Tasman bridge. Everyone wore blue, and starting from Montague Park, walked over the bridge and back, followed by a lovely barbeque. Participation fees and other donations towards the event raised a little over $1000.
