WHAT IS AUTISM?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurological disorder that affects various functions of the brain, and impacts a child’s ability to develop skills such as social interaction, the ability to form relationships and communicate with other people.

Autism presents great challenges in communication and language. People affected by the condition face extreme difficulty when it comes to understanding abstract concepts.

There is no medical detection or cure for Autism, however therapy, resources and equipment are vital to the development of a child on the Spectrum. No two children with Autism are the same, and as such therapy needs to be tailored to meet each childs needs, meaning it is also very expensive, especially for families.
