On behalf of Lend a hand to Hugo’s hard working team, I’m very proud to today announce that this season Lend a hand to Hugo will present a MILO in2CRICKET centre targeted at offering a relaxed environment where children affected by a disability have their chance to play cricket and thrive socially.
If your child is aged between 5-14, and has a disability, and you’d like them to get involved in an active and social program tailored at meeting their needs, we have all that and more to offer!
We see this program as an opportunity where children can grow both their motor and social developmental skills, and parents too can get involved with their kids playing sport. Our Cricket centre will enable your child to meet with new kids whom share similar stories, all whilst offering an introduction to cricket.
With the rise of disability cricket in Australia and around the world, players now have the opportunity to represent their states nationally and country internationally, therefore Lend a hand to Hugo has recognised that we need to put more emphasis on offering an introduction to the game we all love so dearly.
The Lend a hand to Hugo MILO In2CRICKET Centre will commence on Wednesday 1st November 2017, and run right through until Wednesday 13th December 2017. All players who sign up will receive their very own MILO In2CRICKET pack, and will have the opportunity to play alongside some of Lend a hand to Hugo’s first class cricket ambassadors, including Tasmanian Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes players. I stand excited and eager to see an opportunity for children like Hugo who can now join cricketing social program in a familiar and relaxed environment. We want parent involvement too, a place where parents can network and share stories, all whilst playing cricket with your children! It doesn’t matter what struggles your child may face, we are a sport for all!
If you’d like to sign up, please head to playcricket.com.au, follow the prompts and select 'Lend a hand to Hugo Charity' as your club to fill in the sign up forms. Dates: Wednesday 1st November
Wednesday 8th November Wednesday 15th November Wednesday 22nd November Wednesday 6th December Wednesday 13th December *We will take a break on Wednesday 29th November. All sessions will run from 3:45pm-4:45pm at the safe and secure Clare Street Oval, New Town.
